Privacy Policy

Last updated October 1, 2026

Emerge Labs, LLC built Our Plan to help households coordinate when conditions change. Location, health details, and contacts are sensitive, so we keep what we collect to what the app needs to work, and we don’t sell it or use it for advertising. This policy explains what we collect, why, who sees it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

  • Account. Your email and name, from Sign in with Apple, Sign in with Google, or the email and password you sign up with.
  • Your plan. What you and your household add: the people and pets on the plan, places (homes, work, school, meeting places), supplies and go bags, and contacts (names, phone numbers, email addresses).
  • Health details you add. Medical conditions and medications you note for people on the plan, and who weather matters most for (for example asthma, sensitivity to heat or cold, or depending on power for a medical device). They’re used to tailor the plan and the day’s conditions to your household.
  • Location. Three ways, each described below: your current location while you use the app, your location when you send a check-in, and — only if you turn it on — where you last were, for your household.
  • Contacts you pick. If you choose someone from your device’s contacts, we store only the details you select. We don’t upload your address book.
  • Notifications. A push token so we can send you hazard alerts, check-ins, and reminders.
  • Membership. Purchase and subscription status, so we know your household’s Membership is active. Apple processes the payment; we don’t receive your card details.

We don’t use analytics, advertising, or tracking tools in the app. Our servers keep short-lived technical logs to run and fix the service.

Your location

  • While you use the app. Your current location, to show weather, air quality, pollen, and hazards where you are, and to find the nearest hospital. It goes to our servers and to the weather and public safety sources below to look those up. We don’t store it against your account; conditions are cached by area (about half a mile) for a short time so the next lookup is quick.
  • When you send a check-in. Your location goes with it, so the people you choose know where you are. Under Location in check-ins you choose Exact (the default) or Neighborhood.
  • Sharing where you are with your household. Off unless you turn it on — we ask during setup, and you can change it anytime in Settings. When it’s on, your location is updated after you move about a mile, so your household can see where you last were, even if you can’t send a check-in. You choose Neighborhood (the default) or Exact.

Neighborhood means we round your location to about half a mile before it leaves your phone, and round it again on our servers; your household sees a circle around the area, not a point. You control location in the app and in iOS Settings.

Who sees what

  • Your household sees the plan, including the health details you add, and — if you share it — where you last were.
  • The people you send a check-in to get your message, your location, a link to your household’s plan, and, by email, the medical conditions listed for people on the plan, so they know what matters. Medications aren’t included.
  • Anyone with your plan’s share link sees names, meeting places, go bag progress, and who has checked in — not medical conditions, medications, or anyone’s location.

How we use it

  • To run the app: build and sync your plan across your devices and household.
  • To deliver check-ins and messages to the contacts you choose, by text and email.
  • To surface public safety information — weather, wildfire, earthquake, and air quality — for your places and where you are, from authoritative public sources, and to say who it matters most for.
  • To confirm your Membership and provide support.
  • To keep the service secure and working.

Who we share it with

We don’t sell your information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the app, and only for that purpose:

  • Twilio — to send check-in texts.
  • Resend — to send check-in emails.
  • Supabase — the database and sign-in that store your account and plan.
  • Vercel — hosting for our servers.
  • Upstash — a short-lived cache of conditions by area.
  • RevenueCat and Apple — to process and verify your Membership. RevenueCat knows your household by an ID, not your name.
  • Google — Sign in with Google, place search and maps, pollen, and the map image in check-in emails.
  • Expo — to deliver push notifications to your device, including their text, and app updates.
  • Cloudflare — to store offline street maps, which are made for an area, not for you.
  • Weather and public safety sources — the National Weather Service, USGS, AirNow, NIFC, NOAA, FEMA, the FCC (to name the area), Open-Meteo, and RainViewer (radar) — to look up conditions for a location. They receive the location, not who you are.

Some go bag items link to Amazon. We don’t share anything with Amazon; if you open a link, Amazon’s own policies apply.

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect people’s safety.

The people you reach

Please add contacts only when you have their permission to reach them this way, and add health details for other people only with their permission or when you’re responsible for them.

Keeping and deleting your information

  • Location updates you share with your household are kept for 30 days, except the most recent one, which is kept so your household can still see where you last were.
  • Check-ins are kept for 30 days.
  • Everything else is kept while your account is active.
  • If a household’s Membership lapses, the people paused on its plan are kept, not deleted, so they come back when it renews.

You can delete your account in the app (Settings → your name → Delete account). That removes your account, your location history, your contacts, and — if you own the household — the household’s plan for everyone in it. If you joined someone else’s plan, your entry in their plan stays until they remove it. Apple and RevenueCat keep their own records of purchases. You can also email us at support@ourplan.is to ask about your information or request deletion.

Your choices

  • Turn location permission on or off in iOS Settings; turn sharing where you are on or off, and choose Neighborhood or Exact for sharing and for check-ins, in the app.
  • Edit or remove health details for anyone on the plan, anytime.
  • Turn notifications on or off in the app and in iOS Settings.
  • Manage or cancel your Membership in your Apple ID settings.
  • Delete your account at any time.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information in transit and at rest. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep yours protected.

Children

Our Plan isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them. Parents and guardians can add their children to a household plan; that information is theirs to manage. If you believe a child has given us information directly, contact us and we’ll remove it.

Changes

We may update this policy. If we make a material change, we’ll update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app.
